Mary Ann was raised in Lancaster, SC. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in music from Converse College and has been a published writer for thirty years. She has taught adult ed courses in creative writing and Southern literature and wrote a weekly front page column for the Hendersonville (NC) Times News. She and her husband currently live in Tryon.
