This semi-annual community event draws visitors from across the southeast as more than 70 artists display custom works in pottery, sculpture, painting, stained glass, photography, wood carving, and furniture. Fine crafts are a mountain legacy, initially learned by early settlers to supplement their often meager farm incomes. The region has grown into an arts and crafts hub and is home to more than 100 distinguished artisans. The festival will feature onsite displays, children’s area, live music and fine local food. Most importantly, the event, along with its sister festival in the fall, serves as the major fundraiser for Hickory Nut Gorge Outreach. HNG Outreach is a nonprofit organization that provides pantry and outreach services to low-income families. Being a part of the festival means making the holidays better for many families in need.
